Smocking

Here are some of my first smocking samples.

In the middle I looked at exploring both sides of the same smocking stitch. I decided the side which creates square shapes is the best side for me as it creates a texture which reflects my granade texture. I decided to scale this up so I am able to create a bolder outcome.

I then explored different fabrics to see which holds its shape and enhances the technique best.
