The first thing I did today was mark out the centre lines of my wall horizontally and verticall. I did the same with the design on paper which I had in front of me. This allowed me to split the design up into sections so that I could get the proportions correct.
Using white chalk I then sketched out my design.
I began painting this. To start with I painted the pure green pigment to Fill in the area marked out. i then waited for this to dry before the next steps. I am happy with how this turned out as I like how the lines look sharp and clean, however to improve this I may use a darker pigment to add depth and separate the border from the image.


Once the grass dried I used chalk to Draw the outline of the bugs which were in the grass. I then painted the background colours of them. For the ladybug this was painting the body red, and for the snail it was painting both the light brown and the dark brown. I also began with the yellow areas on the bee.
