manipulated squares

when looking for inspiration for m manipulation samples a came across this tikok video by @utopia.us where they manipulated these squares so that they stood out the page. they then attached these together in rows. i saw this and it instantly reminded me of the texture of a grenade.

Here are my samples i made with the inspiration of my artist research .

i defiantly want to develop these further in my project.
