making layer 1

i began by cutting out my pattern onto the discarded fabric. i used weights instead of pins as i didnt want to rip my plastic.

as this was made from disgarded plastic i found there were some holes in the sheets. to fit this i sewed cross patterns in order to sop the platic from ripping further and adds more strength.

To create structure i added wire around the edge in a double turned hem. i found this was really beneficial as it held the pattern on the body well.
