Initial ideas

In lareens patterncutting lessons we are making a top. This top has to be suitable to but at tate modern shop.

After studying and exploring different artists inspired by colour I have decided to use this piece by . I chose this as I was intrigued by how pieces Of exiting shapes fit together to create a new pattern. I also liked how the simplicity of the colours make the audience Look at the shapes more and stand out better.

Going through with this paining I would like to inspire my top which will be sold in Tate moderns shop possibly by splitting up the bodice pattern in the same way shapes Are split up in this painting.
